Estimate solar noon for a chosen date and coordinates, plus the solar midnights before and after it. The preceding and following solar midnights are estimated midpoints between adjacent solar noons.

The calculator starts with a fixed example date and coordinates of 51.48° north, 0° longitude. Replace these with your own values:

  1. Replace the example date with the date you want to calculate.
  2. Enter latitude in decimal degrees from -90 to 90. North is positive and south is negative: 30° south → -30.
  3. Enter longitude in decimal degrees from -180 to 180. East of Greenwich is positive and west is negative: 70° west → -70.

Enter your location manually. No location or time zone is detected automatically.

Date selection. The supported solar-events engine samples the selected date at 12:00 UTC. This is the engine's date reference, not a fixed solar-noon result. Results are not restricted to the selected local calendar day. Read the full date and UTC offset of each returned instant, especially near the International Date Line. No location or time zone is detected automatically.

Midnight estimates. The engine estimates each solar midnight as the midpoint between adjacent solar noons, rather than independently solving for the lower-transit time. The preceding and following results bracket the calculated solar noon. They are not necessarily civil midnight or exactly twelve hours from noon.

Accuracy. Results are estimates. The supplied engine contract does not specify a numerical accuracy guarantee. Seconds shown in a timestamp do not imply accuracy to the nearest second. An unavailable result means the calculation could not provide a value; it does not mean midnight or zero.
